Top 5 things to do tonight

IMG_0293.JPGIt's Friday so only right we gave you some ideas on how to spend it!

In at Number 1 of what to do tonight is The Matt Irwin : PUNK. PERFECT. AWFUL
Private view at Cordy House with Dazed Digital. Matt Irwin, the son of devout Mormon parents, spent his teenage years dividing his time between working in a tractor factory and tying miniature explosives to his bike and riding around like a lunatic. Fast-forward a decade or so, and he is pretty much one of the most sought-after young photographers working in Britain today. Starting out, in his own words, "taking pictures of fucked up, lo-fi punk kids", Matt Irwin is now pointing his lens at supermodels for Vogue, Self Service and V Magazine among others, and shooting campaigns for leading high street stores.

Friday

IMG_0296.JPGIt's Friday boys and girls. Got that Friday feeling yet? We certainly have. It was cupcakes for breakfast from amazing bakery Candy Cakes in Carnaby Street and discussions about boozy lunches for afters. The cupcakes are mainly because it is Mr Bling's Birthday. Mr Bling, for those that don't know, is our stuffed fox that resides on our office shelf AKA the foxhole.

The Brits after hours at Claridges

Thumbnail image for Old Speckled Hen.jpg Jack went to the Universal party at Claridges after the Brits. We thought it only polite to report back. Sorry its taken me a while to get around to this post this morning but it was a rather late one as I m sure you can all understand. Piper Heidseick champagne down their fronts. Kimberley had the smallest Swarovski covered handbag in the world, but proudly showed off her TINY Samsung F210 phone which just about fitted in in.

Re-emergence of old school Dj headphones

skull.jpgFed up of those poxy ipod headphones falling out of your ears constantly? Whether running for the bus, getting your wires in a twist from your bag to your head, taking your coat off and forgetting the damn thing is in your pocket and almost ripping your earholes out?
Well, we think this is the solution and a very trendy one at that. Bring back old headphones. They don't upset the person next to you on the bus, they don't let all that outside noise in. Above all they have a lot more plastic to put designs on and things!

Our favourite here is Skull Candy - from Gold to white to red to yellow, you can match them with whatever outfit you like and in this weather they also keep your ears warm! Perfect.

He's just not that into you

hes_just_not_that_into_you.jpg'He's just not that into you' that familiar Sex and the City phrase and now the title of an entire film.
I was reading a piece in Style magazine on the train back to London last weekend which centered largely around the topics said statement and film title bring up. I must admit I don't usually read the editorial, more glance over where I can buy what that week but I got stuck into this one when I read the first paragraph.

'This, I promise is exactly what he said to me "right, I m calling you tomorrow and you'd better have your phone with you. I absolutely adore you. I have to know when I m seeing you again'

Tartan and Fur

tartan.jpg
We are going to a beautiful hotel in scottland to review next week. I ll keep you updated on progress and the weather! Hopefully we wont freeze!
It does however give me a good reason to wear my two most recent loves. Old fur and tartan. Now I know some of you are going to be raising an eyebrow at the fur mention. However, although I do wear fake fur very happily there is nothing that beats the warmth of a real fur and in this current cold snap who doesn't want to wrap up?

Not so exclusive

perez-lily-b.jpgMy little bit of news about Lily and Perez earlier seems not to of gone unnoticed by some. Although I think, Dollymixers that we go there first!
An article in US Magazine online had this quote from Perez "If a celeb wants to get attention quickly and easily, they will engage in a public feud with another -- preferably more famous -- celebrity," Hilton says. "It's cheap and slightly desperate and I love it!"

The Duloks

00017948_duloks200.jpgWe have just gained a new intern here at the Jack office and it seems she is a fan of Dollymix! So, because we are so nice and believe that interns should get proper jobs rather than stuffing envelopes I have given her the task of writing a piece for you lovely Dollymixers.
Over to Abbi :
Everyone writes about bands. I would rather pull my own earlobes off and swallow them whole than review another Indie-boys-with-guitars-type-band, whose idea of song writing involves copying whatever droney rubbish they've been listening to on their I-Pod for three years and getting a new shit haircut.

The Twitter bug

The Twitter bug has well and truly landed it seems. Everyone is Twittering away and last week there was even Twestival!
There also seems to be sound out and out wars beginning.
For those of you who do not have a clue what I am on about think of Facebook updates then imagine a site where that was all you did - update your status. Twitter is essentially that with chat.
I am on it a fair amount under 'whosjack' and today have noticed a rather nasty word war going on between Perez Hilton and Lily Allen. Very public.
Lily has been calling Perez a cheap ass whore and and he has been highlighting the fact that her album is already at the bargain price of $3.99
Honestly chaps, play nice.
