Anna Paquin faces prejudice because of bisexuality

TrueBlood.jpgAnna Paquin, star of vampire series True Blood, has admitted she faces a lot of "prejudice" because she's bisexual.

The Oscar-winning actress, who has also starred in X Men and She's All That (remember the funky little sister of Freddie Prince Jnr?) is married to Stephen Moyer, her co-star in 'True Blood'. Previously, she revealed she is attracted to both men and women but is hoping the more people who come out as bisexual, the less judgemental people will become.

She said: "Frankly no one had ever asked me about being bisexual before. There is a lot of prejudice against us but the more people talk about it, the less of a deal it will be. Who people choose to sleep with or spend their lives with shouldn't matter, not that anyone particularly cares who I'm attracted to."

Do you think there's still a large amount of prejudice against those who come out as bisexual?

Has Cheryl Cole been sacked from the US X Factor?

113850287.jpgReports are currently circulating that Cheryl Cole has been axed from the X Factor, and replaced by X Factor darling Nicole Scherzinger.

Many sources believe the singer's Geordie accent is to blame, which Amercians are struggling to understand. This seems unlikely though, considering Welsh Steve Jones is still on the presenting team. Plus it's not like they didn't know she had an accent before they hired her.

It's a shame if the reports turn out to be true, as Cheryl has been channelling all her efforts into succeeding in the States. It'll be interesting to see what involvement Simon Cowell had in the decision too, considering he originally pushed for her to be in the show.

So, here's my suggestion: If Cheryl is on her way back to the UK, can we send The Hoff back to the USA? Seems like a fair swap!

What do you think about the rumours?

Five of the biggest Twitter fights

Celebs joining Twitter can only mean one of two things: a string of mutual appreciation tweets, or an exchange of insults.

Let's be honest, the latter is much more entertaining.

So, which Twitter arguments will go down in history? I have a feeling some of these might make the list.

1) Piers Morgan vs. Sir Alan Sugar: More of a gentle banter than a full on argument, Sugar and Morgan have a constant battle to get more fans than each other. It can get a little tiresome at times (that DM button is there for a reason fellas), but it's quite a light hearted battle.

2) Amy Winehouse vs. Mark Ronson: Amy might have binned her unhealthy ways, but she's still up for a bit of controversy. Last year, she tweeted "Ronson you're dead to me" and suggested he had tried to take "half the credit" for her Back To Black album. She later apologised for the comments, but not before the UK's media picked up on it.

The Aigua Media Royal Wedding predictions - Were we right?

Here at Aigua Media, we've been loving all the rumours doing the rounds regarding Kate's dress, beauty choices and rumours about what she'd say at the alter.

Now we know most of the answers, lets see how we did!

  • Catwalk Queen correctly reported that Kate's dress could be designed by Sarah Burton.
  • They also reported a vintage McQueen influence, which ended up being the choice for Kate's sister Pippa.
  • OSOBLOG were spot on with their report that Kate wouldn't be arriving in a carriage after all. Will did get to drive them out in a rather snazzy Aston Martin though.
  • Shoewawa was holding out for some Aruna Seth heels, but they're apparently Alexander McQueen (although we haven't actually seen them yet, so we're still holding out hope).
  • Kiss and Make Up confirmed that Kate would have her hair down earlier this week.
  • And Startrip has a few predictions of their own for the reception...we love their idea of Prince Charles doing the funky chicken.
Have you enjoyed the Royal Wedding?

Five reasons why we're looking forward to the Royal Wedding.

  1. It's an excuse for a party.
  2. A street party gives us the perfect chance to chat up that cute guy that lives two doors down.
  3. It's a fairytale happy ending, and who doesn't love one of them?
  4. What will she wear? Who will design her dress? Will the Queen get a little too tipsy on sherry at the reception? Half the fun of the wedding is all the speculation before.
  5. Not convinced yet? These three words might change your mind - Extra Bank Holiday.

There is a downside to the Royal Wedding though - William and Kate: The Movie.

Are you excited about the Royal Wedding?

Five...UK celebs you have to follow on Twitter

Celebs on Twitter. Unless you're incredibly high brow, you probably follow a few celebs on the social networking site. What better way to have a nosy at their day-to-day life?

Just starting out on Twitter? Here's five celebs to follow (who actually do their own tweeting).

  • Stephen Fry. The big daddy of Twitter. Has almost 2.5 million followers. Follow him for general chit chat, political commentary and the odd pic.
  • Lily Allen. Approaching nearly 3 million followers! Used the C word liberally. Argues with Piers Morgan quite a bit. Touchingly honest and real.
  • Jonathan Ross. Another early adopter and twitteraholic. Has almost a million followers. Easy to forget he's a celeb with tweets like "orning. Beautiful day and I am off to the dentist how does that work..."
  • Philip Schofield. The king of daytime TV has a fairly decent following of over 700,000. Expect break time banter with Holly Willoughby, exclusive pics from behind the scenes, and the odd bit of very juicy gossip.
  • Alan Carr. An example to all comedians on Twitter etiquette. Nearly 900,000 followers. Very funny. Prone to TMI. Occasionally drunk tweets.
So, who would you recommend is worth a follow on Twitter?

Playtex choose Ruth Langsford to be their brand ambassador

playtex bras.jpg
In a world of modelling where only the young, slim and large of lady lumps get the underwear jobs, it's heartening to see Playtex using a slightly older public figure to represent their brand.

Ruth Langsford, wife and co-presenter of Eamonn Holmes, has been chosen as the latest brand ambassador for Playtex's latest collection aimed at glamourous fiftysomethings.

Ruth went on to say:

"I love being in my fifties, and while my body shape is changing, I still enjoy things like wearing sexy dresses, clothes shopping, going to the gym and feeling good about myself and my body."

"For me, Playtex have hit just the right balance between style, comfort, fit and a creating a fabulous shape.

Well said! Do you think Ruth was the right choice?

Mel B announces another Spice baby

Mel B has announced today that she's having a baby in the summer with her husband Stephen Belafonte. Scary Spice joins bandmates Emma Bunton and Victoria Beckham in the pregnancy gang.

Mel told Hello! magazine "We're really excited. We wouldn't have planned and waited for four years to have a baby if we weren't really excited about it and ready for it. Even though you can never really be truly ready"

I'm looking forward to seeing what names the girls give their kids. Will Victoria name her child after the location of conception? Will Mel B go for something as cutesy as Phoenix or Angel? And will Emma go for something more mainstream?

Congratulations to all the girls!

Ke$ha drinks blood live on stage - from an animal's heart

Ke$ha Getty.jpgAnother week, another female singer using animal parts as part of her 'performance.'

We've already had Lady Gaga prancing around in a dress made of steak, and now we've got Ke$ha drinking 'blood' from an animal's heart, live on stage.

Really Ke$ha? Is this some form of (failed) attempt at art?

I'm no vegetarian, but there's something very distasteful, not to mention disgusting, about this whole trend. This need to be controversial all the time is masking their actual talent.

In fairness, Ke$ha doesn't seem total with it during the incident. The video below shows her swaying and barely singing during her song 'The Harold Shop.'

What do you think? Is it an artist expression, or just plain attention-seeking?

Katie Price and Peter Andre publicly argue. Again.

peterandre.jpgKatie Price seems to be making a habit of spending her weekends arguing with her ex-husbands. This weekend, it was the turn of Peter Andre. The two argued, through Twitter and ridiculously long statements on their blogs, about who's the worst parent.

This time, they're arguing over (by the sounds of things, minor) burns that both Harvey and Princess have both had in the last few months.

The trouble began when Peter addressed a newspaper article about a burn Princess got while apparently in the care of Miss Price.

In response, Katie tweeted "Again lies being reported !As for peter he should know what a real BURN is like look at HARVEYS leg that he burnt while in PETES CARE!!

The sad thing is, all this public arguing is likely to be doing the children so much more damage than an accidental burn. Had the pair kept a dignified silence on the matter, no one would be talking about it now.

What do you think about Katie Price and Peter Andre's actions?
