From Saturday, we'll be cheering on our Editorial Director Jess Markwood as she heads off on the trip of a lifetime: cycling across Kenya with 99 other female cyclists in aid of three women's cancer charities: Breast Cancer Care, Jo's Cervical Cancer Trust and Ovarian Cancer Action, collectively known as 'Women V Cancer' organised by Action for Charity. Jess will be cycling over 400km through the Rift Valley, racking up an impressive 80km (50 miles) a day - that's roughly the equivalent of cycling from London to Brighton every day for five days on the trot. Well, it's lucky Jess has been training like a demon and now has thighs of steel!
Jess, pictured above with some of her stylish pink and black cycling gear, is aiming to raise £5,000 for Women v Cancer, and is already very close to her target: you can see her running total at her JustGiving page. If you'd like to support her, all donations are welcome, however small, and every penny counts towards these causes that affect so many of us. In the meantime, Jess will be sending us her updates, and we can't wait to see how she gets on in her African adventure!
It's a mammoth task and no mistake...but we're sure that Jess is up to the challenge! We are also pleased to note that in her capacity of Editor at fashion site OSOYOU,
Jess will be staying on trend even in the 80-degree heat, cycling
head-to-toe in the latest sports luxe gear from Stella McCartney for Adidas.
