Would you remove a tattoo for a job?

Peaches-Geldof-Flower-Tattoo-2011.jpgIt's painful times in Spain right now - bookings to get laser treatment to remove tattoos in Barcelona have reportedly (according to the Guardian) taken a considerable 81% increase. The reason? The job market is so increasingly competitive right now that people are getting rid of the Chinese symbols and tribal drawings they thought were such a good idea in their teens so that they don't get passed over when they're applying for a job, in favour of a less inked person.

I could name many a celebrity who had a ridiculous tattoo that could hinder their chances of getting a job if they lived in the real world (Kelly Osbourne, Scarlett Johansson's ridiculous sun thingy on her arm, Peaches Geldof as above - I barely understand how she got that modelling job anyway, to be honest), but luckily as they don't, they manage. But what about us? Would you pay to go through the pain and expense to have a better chance of getting a job? And if you're an employer, would a tattoo be a negative when looking at a job candidate?

I'm just happy my tattoo ofJohnny Depp as Jack Sparrow* is easily covered up on my leg.

*I don't really have one, anyone that googles me, I swear.
