All girl R'n'B band TLC went from nothing to almost overnight success in 1991 after gaining the attention of female singer and producer Perri Reid. Their style was mix of female-empowered rapping, crazy dress sense and playful lyrics. TLC lost band member Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes in 2002 but the remaining members have continued as a duo on various projects
