For city dwellers, the arrival of a weekly box of goodness driven in from the provinces can be an exciting event: fruit and veg we barely even recognise is delivered fuss-free by a nice man in a biodegradable van, and we find ourselves cooking up all kinds of adventurous meals to use up the more unusual ingredients.
I've noticed that people seem to be quite divided on the topic, depending on how well organic box schemes have worked for them. Some absolutely love the convenience, variety, health benefits and cooking ideas they bring, while others just discover an innate hatred for chard, cabbage and cauliflour and end up with expensive mounds of rotting vegetables piling up in the fridge. Where do you sit?
