Many of us have become a bit addicted to the various group-buying and social shopping platforms that have sprung up recently, and so far, have not tired of the various newcomers offering similar deals. I'm sure I'm not alone in passing off this new retail fix as a side-effect of the recession that saves pennies, but if I'm honest, it mostly just encourages me to buy more stuff...

That's why I was pleased to here that ethical retailer Adili (now selling its fashion and lifestyle products under the brand name Ascension) is set to return from the ashes of its troubled few years with the launch of a new online shopping channel featuring 'deals of the day' on eco-friendly products and experiences, with discounts of up to 90%.

The deals will operate on a co-buying model, rivaling Groupon et. al, but all with an ethical or earth-friendly focus: those interested are now being invited to submit their email addresses here. We've only had a preview of what will be on offer at Adili, but they certainly look tempting and will be sure to add a guilt-free angle to this new feelgood way of spending our hard-earned bucks. At least that's my story...perhaps it's just yet another excuse to scratch that shopping itch when I really ought to be saving!
