It was only earlier today I mentioned Deborah Kerr and An Affair To Remember, and now she's on the telly with Cary Grant making me cry. It's my favourite film, but their screen kiss on the boat is in my opinion the best ever screen kiss. And you only see their feet. And what about the other wonderful screen kisses? I'm going old school today. Here are my favourite.
Breakfast at Tiffany's: How can you not love this kiss? If you're not crying buckets by the end of this film than I think you jolly well have a heart of stone.
ER: Did anyone ever imagine Ross and Hathaway getting together? This bit was one of my favourite ever moments. (Sorry about the annoying video music though, why do people do that to perfectly good TV?)
Friends: Ross and Rachel finally kissing was just about the best thing on TV when I was a teenager.
Bridget Jones' Diary: It's not the actually kiss that does it. It's the lines "Nice boys don't kiss like that" and Colin Firth's "Oh yes they fucking do". Hearts melted like the fake snow she's standing in in her pants.
Some Kinds Of Wonderful: I confess to having never seen this film, but it's co-editrix Robyn's favourite screen kiss so I had to include it.
The next man I kiss had better be upside down on a cruise ship in the rain, or frankly they don't stand a chance.
