Dollhouse, the new series from Buffy the Vampire Slayer creator Joss Whedon, premieres in the UK on Tuesday 19th May, on the Sci-Fi Channel.
Complex, dark and witty, it stars ex-vampire slayer Eliza Dushku (Faith from Buffy), and raises questions about identity, morality and technology (and - this being a Joss Whedon show - there's no shortage of ass-kicking ladies, either).
But will you be watching? Follow us over the jump to watch the trailer and decide.
An elite underground group hire out "dolls" to rich customers. The dolls are people - blanked people - imprinted with specific personalities for each "engagement" with the rich clients.
Eliza Dushku plays an active called Echo. Like all the other dolls, Echo's memory is wiped after each engagement, and her own personality is removed and safely locked away on a hard drive. Orrrrr iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiis iiiiiiiiiiiiiit?
Dollhouse's early episodes met with mixed reviews in the US, but the show soon picked up when Joss Whedon and his writers sprinkled it liberally with their trademark quippage, action and thrilling plot twists, so it's well worth hanging in there.
Presumably to relieve the interminable wait to hear whether the FOX network will commission season (FOX infamously killed Joss Whedon's other fabulous series, Firefly), Whedon fans over at the Dollhouse Fan Wiki have created these Dollhouse paper dolls!
You too can print out these paper people, slice 'em up, and mix 'em up to reflect the show (metaphorically, like) pose them around your house and send the photos in to the Dolls in the Wild album.
Or not...
Either way, do check out Dollhouse on Tuesday 19th May. It just gets better and better.
