It does however give me a good reason to wear my two most recent loves. Old fur and tartan. Now I know some of you are going to be raising an eyebrow at the fur mention. However, although I do wear fake fur very happily there is nothing that beats the warmth of a real fur and in this current cold snap who doesn't want to wrap up?
I do not in any way agree with the unethical fur farming issue and am a great animal lover. I do believe though that if there is some fleabitten old fur in a vintage shop it would be such a waste to let it just sit there and lets face it, they don't sit around too long before they get snapped up by someone else. So to cut my reasonings short I would never buy a new fur but am hapy to recycle old ones.
That and tartan, everyone should go out and buy something tartan this month - a challenge! There is a lot about from great tartan headbands with added bows from Urban Outfitters to tartan shirts for £10 that have been handily worn in from Rokit (great fur coats here too). If you want to keep your tartan effort small then there are some great tartan tights at mytights.com. To coin a Fast Show phrase - Brilliant. One final great deal can be had at Peackcocks: tartan plimsols for £5.00. I picked some up last week. Not sure abut you lot but I'm loving the way the ressession has brought down so many price tags!
