What with everyone speaking out inappropriately at the moment it seems, Jeremy Clarkson, Jonathan Ross, Mr Brand.... It was only a matter of time I suppose until someone took it that step way too far and said something no one could argue away. We all know what Carol Thatcher said by now I think. The main problem is that she just won't seem to apologise, that would at least be a start.
So it seems people are taking a stand and taking that stand today.
Behind the Shutters gallery is taking that stand with a peaceful protest outside Carol Thatcher's home today at 2pm
A collective led by the gallery (recently home to the Mutate Britain exhibition, featuring work by Eighties anarchist sculptors Mutoid Waste) will stage a peaceful protest outside Carol Thatcher's London home, brought on by her recent comments.
A spokesperson for the protest says, 'We are all for freedom of expression but find Carol Thatcher's views to be offensive and thus hope to make our voices heard. We just want her to apologise to us and the many people who feel the same way...'
It seems that all manor of people have been offended by her comments and want to make that known. At 2pm artists, musicians, event promoters and their families will gather outside her home to make a stand.
Hopefully this peaceful protest might at least prompt the apology everyone is waiting for.
