Every day I walk past it at the Tube station, and every day I have to stifle a giggle. No, it's not the stuffy businessman with his fly undone. It is a poster for The Reader, the new film starring Kate Winslet and Ralph Fiennes. Which I am sure is a very weighty affair stuffed with pathos and Oscar-winning turns.
But you see the poster is of Kate Winslet staring intently at an open book, Ralph beside her looking supportive. And the words 'THE READER' in red capitals. It just looks like the subtitle should be "SHE READS!" or "HOW WILL SHE DEFEAT THE DREADED TURNED-DOWN CORNER?", or "ONE WOMAN, ONE PAPERBACK, ONE WEEK DURING THE TUBE JOURNEY AND AT BEDTIME - WILL SHE MAKE IT?"
It reminds me of Something Awful's Misinterpreted Movie Titles (parts one and two) - these actually date back from 2004, but since nothing's ever out of date on the internet (or is it that on the internet no one can hear you scream? I can never remember...), I thought I'd share Something Awful's patchy genius with you again.
Here are my favourites:

And since doing any actual real work on such a bone-freezingly cold day seems like an awful prospect, let's delay it further by perusing kissthisguy.com's funniest misheard lyrics (plus the story which explains why it's called 'kiss this guy').
There! Now, time for a coffee, and a natter, and a bit of pencil sharpening, and a quick trip to the loo, and another coffee, and a quick scan of personal emails, and a look at the paper, and I shall be almost ready to start my working day.
