Smell like Kelly Brook! Or Kate Moss! Jordan! Yay!

rex_821337f.jpgI'm a bit muddled by all of these celebrity smellies. I've seen three adverts for Kate Moss' Velvet Hour this morning. Three! Do you want to smell like Kate Moss? Do you really? Fags and stale champagne? Yeah, I'm sure in reality it smells lovely. But why has everyone gone perfume mad? There's a new one released each week (yes, Ms Brook I'm looking at you) and Jordan seemingly has a different smell for each day of the week.

But does it matter if a celeb is behind the smell? Will you buy a fragrance just because someone famous is behind it? Tell us what you think over the jump.

Got something more to say? Well that's what the comments are for!

I was recently given Paris Hiltons' "It's just me" perfume & found it to be surprisingly elegant & classy. It has become my favourite scent even overtaking "Flower by Kenzo" & "Chanel".

How much input these celebrities have into the scent is something we will never know for certain although I'm pretty certain the input is minimal.
The celebrity involved does have an impact on whether or not I would have any interest in a scent or not. I would not buy anything by Kate Moss or either of the Beckhams for example. Personal dislike / distaste of certain people affects how I feel about even attempting a scent.
I can't imagine admitting to anyone I bought a fragrance endorsed by money / fame whores like the Beckhams or the morally defunct Moss.

I'm shocked by my own reaction to this actually, Amanda. I think I'd have judged Paris Hilton's fragrance by what I think about her! I don't think she's elegant or classy (although she's getting a lot better than she used to be.)

Maybe I'll have a spray next time I pass the perfume counter. I'm curious now!

Thanks for commenting.x

I've just finished a bottle of Mariah Carey's scent (lord no) and before that, it was J Lo. Unfortunately they were the nicest-smelling perfumes in the shop, so I bought them in spite of the celebrity and hoped no one would ask.

And of course, I had a backup scent to name if anyone DID ask. I wasn't going to admit to smelling of Mariah.

I don't think I would either, Holly!
