I think it might be naked day, the Gok Wan thing was a bit of red herring. Yes, this is the NAKED NUNS calendar! Oh, but it turns out they're not even real nuns. I'm as disappointed as you. This is a charity thing for Trinity Hospice. Eighteen members of Capital NUNS - London's leading netball club, have donned their birthday suits to pose against iconic London landmarks, for a "cheeky but tasteful calendar for 2009" that will go on sale at the end of this month.
The project is somewhat inspired by Calendar Girls, but what with the girls being netball players and all we can probably expect more athletic flashes of flesh - and the whole thing "is carefully arranged and composed to resemble glamorous film stills whilst ensuring a degree of modesty."
The Naked NUNS Calendar costs £12 and you can buy a copy online or from various high street outlets including Trinity Hospice and selected South London shops.
Sarah Jenkins, one of the netballers behind the Naked NUNS Calendar explained herself: 'The majority of our membership live and work in South London and the City - so Trinity Hospice is a genuine 'local' charity for us. We have all been affected by terminal illness in our families, and have experienced at first-hand the life-affirming and positive nature of hospices, so we see fundraising on Trinity's behalf as a very tangible way of giving something back. It also gave us a very good reason to prepare for our dreaded 'close ups' and get our kit off!'
So. Netball. Finally sexy?
