For some of us, of course, every week is chocolate week. But that's a bit like saying "Every day is Children's Day" to a child asking why there's a Mother's Day and a Father's Day but nothing for them - ie. annoying, meaningless, and ignoring the fact that nothing adds a feeling of specialness like a dedicated national day, week, or month. Chocolate Week happens next week and will be seven days of "chocolate indulgence with talks, tastings, demonstrations, launches of new chocolates, chocolate fountains, sculptures etc. Foodies will be able to find out more about chocolate, it's origins, cocoa beans, how it is made and also taste the finest chocolate in the world." Blah blah whatever, SHOW ME THE CHOCCIES HOM NOM NOM!
Apparently Chocolate Week will take place in chocolate shops, talks, tastings (tastings!) and other events. The focus will be on the British variety, and the way it's changed and developed since it first came to the country 350 years ago.
