I have very mixed feelings about the ongoing success of Blue Peter. As far as I'm concerned, it belongs firmly to the simpler homespun times of the 70s, 80s and early 90s. Because that's when I was a kid, so is obviously the best and only really proper time to be a child. To imagine a version which might cite iPods, or modern pop groups, or have any awareness at all of the internet is just too much of an abberation. The new world is too big for little Blue Peter (and Newsround), isn't it? To me, it's like trying to imagine the size of the earth in comparison to the Sun. My head is going to burst. But obviously BP is still awesome, and these are my problems. (Still, thanks for listening.) They've been around 50 years, enjoy our gallery!
