The Zooey Deschanel backlash has begun. Which is a shame, because here at Dollymix we think she's pretty great. We liked her in The Hitchhiker's Guide, she was the best thing about The Happening, Elf and Failure to Launch. But is she just a bit too kooky? That's the question. Jezebel weighs up the evidence. Anthem magazine reckons she's boring. Sure, she has a quirky way about her and a funny way of spelling her name, but since when was that a hanging offense? What do you think, readers? What is the Dollymix readership consensus on Ms Deschanel?

I won't hear a bad word said about this girl. When I grow up, I want to be her.
I'm not in the target audience here exactly - Y chromosome and all - but ZD is a major crush object here, partly for Hitch-Hiker's, but mostly for She & Him, an indie band consisting of ZD and M. Ward.
I think she is pretty, and I like how she dresses. I enjoyed her in The Good Girl.
Sometimes in interviews she strikes me as someone who is interesting for the sake of being interesting, but it's not like I've hung out with her - so whatever. Lots of people are like that.
