Christina Applegate, whom we love, has had a double mastectomy and has announced that she's now in the clear! Yay!

And in the 'so astonishing it's almost funny' category - an outback Mayor seems to have suggested 'beauty disadvantaged' women move out to redneck county. In his defense, he might just have been talking about how happy plain women are out there. Which is much better, obviously.
