Beyonce goes all the way - but why do naturally dark women want to be blonde anyway?

Everyone's talking about Beyonce's magical transformation into a white-skinned woman (she seems to have had something unusual done to her nose, too) but isn't this what she's been working towards for some time? I've always had trouble taking Beyonce seriously. Not because she's blonde, but because she's so patently obviously not naturally blonde, yet tries to look like she was born that way. I mean Agyness Deyn of yesterday's names post fame has that whole Alistair Campbell thing going on, and we know she washes her hair in bleach every night - it's part of a constructed image. It's the obvious non-blondes who try to make it look natural that I struggle with. Step forward Katie Hill.

  • Um, not sure what you mean by 'do more research'? I'm agreeing with you!

Maybe I didn't explain it properly. I just meant that everyone's talking about her skin in this picture but her hair is the thing I've always had a problem with.

She's obviously not really a blonde chick, but she does actually have light hair in real life - and dark skin - which looks strange and unnatural.

My question remains - why do so many girls want to be blonde, even when it looks so odd?

yeah... you know that this was a photoshop faux pas, correct? Yes, Beyonce should be a proud black woman, but c'mon, you see this photo in L'Oreal, then you see Beyonce bummin' around and she's nowhere near this shade. How about a bit of better research on your part ladies?

This is one of the many many sites out there that show that Beyonce isn't normally that color in real life.
