Obsessive boyfriends: Do you feel like you come second to something?

puterboy.jpgThe sensible advice site (with very nice fonts) Dear Sugar is always good value, but one question in particular caught my eye today. Computer Woes Cassie wrote in to say "He likes his computer more than me". "If I ask him a question while he's checking blogs, he dramatically takes off his headphones, presses pause on whatever music he's listening to, sighs and says "yes?" in a hostile tone. He checks all his favorite sites first thing in the morning, is on them when I get home from work, and is looking at them throughout the day." Dear Sugar suggests he needs a kick up the bum. Dollymix would like to add a clip round the ear.

So, girls... do you sometimes feel like you come second to a boyfriend obsession? Or maybe your bloke has to make way for your own time-consuming passions?

Obsessive boyfriends: Do you feel like you come second to something? - Comments

  • I have to confess to being quite impatient if my boyfriend tries to talk to me when I'm clearly reading a book or website or watching something on TV. But since I'm always doing one of those three things, he doesn't stand much of a chance.

Thing is, I wouldn't mind so much if he got my attention and let me hit pause first - it's just that by the time I've realised he's speaking he's usually half way through the first paragraph and I have to ask him to start again.

  • My husband used to interrupt me constantly on my obsessive blog reading and surfing right up until I bought a new laptop and gave him my old one. Now he has hos own online obsessions and websites he loves to surf and the only noise heard is of fingers tapping the keyboard. We even message each other to ask if they want a cup of tea. Obsessive? maybe! Healthy? not particularly! but at least we are now jointly obsessed.
