There's a new book out called "The Art Of Dying" by Peter and Elizabeth Fenwick, and it's being promoted all over the place at the moment.
Your correspondent has yet to read it, so can't tell you whether it's any good, but it certainly sounds interesting. We're used to our pets knowing when it's feeding time and sometimes seem to be tuned into our moods and routines. But this book goes a step further. It's all about whether animals can actually sense really important stuff - like that we're about to die...
Nursing home cat Oscar comes up a lot in these conversations; he's the one who pads from room to room before settling, like a furry roulette wheel of doom, on someone's bed just as they're about to die.
Dogs bark when loved ones cork it, even if it's miles away. And, slightly less convincingly maybe, crows are seen hopping around when death's in the air. But gloomy stuff aside: do you think dogs and cats can really know this stuff? Is it not probably more about smell or something? Leave us a comment with your thoughts and stories, and if you email us a picture of your psychic pet - you never know - we might even put it up on here...
