Dating site for the marrieds: because life is short, apparently

cheating husband.jpgThe Ashley Madison Agency sounds like some kind of detective agency staffed entirely by Orange Country cheerleaders. You're quickly dissuaded of that notion though when you see their amazing tagline: Life is short. Have an affair.

This raises a number of questions - do they know something about the shortness of life that we do not? Whatever happened to good old fashioned shagging of colleagues when drunk after Christmas parties? Does *everything* need a website now?

This dating site for the married type is proving to be enormously popular. I can't decide if this is gratifying or depressing, but for every 1.5 woman signed up (painful amount to be, I imagine) there's 8.5 men. What am I thinking - it's hugely depressing.

The FAQ make marvellous Thursday afternoon reading. My favourite has got to be "Does Ashley Madison encourage infidelity?". The answer? "No, Ashley Madison does not encourage anyone to stray." Perhaps I'm missing the point of the site. I'm also a big fan of the random capitalisation in this question: "Doesn't a service like Ashley Madison make it Easier for people to Stray?" No one said cheaters were any good at the English language...

You can check it out for yourself here.
