Catherine Tate has been a Funny Woman on Dollymix before, but I think she deserves a second mention now as Woman of The Week. Why? Because she has won over the hearts of even the biggest critics playing Donna Noble in Doctor Who, despite first appearing in a Christmas special that left most Who fans thinking 'Her? The new companion? Seriously?' when news first broke of her reprising the role for the latest series.
Nevertheless, Donna has proven to be - arguably - the best companion yet. Tate's comic timing and spot-on delivery coupled with some great scripts (Steven Moffat, I bloody love you) scene-stealing performances and brilliant one-liners have secured her place in geek history.
This week she faces her biggest challenge - an episode with the much loved ex-companion Rose (Billie Piper). My inner fangirl can't wait to see what she pulls out the bag!
