Jessica Hynes has gone and said something that's likely to get Spaced fans foaming at their foam-producing parts. I've certainly got froth appearing all over the place after reading that she's been emailing Simon Pegg and that she's "very up for" making a movie of Spaced.
Maybe it's because of all the hoo-hah and anger that surrounded the US remake of the cult sitcom, but after years of answering "no" to all questions about possible Spaced projects, Hynes -who co-wrote Spaced with Simon Pegg and starred as Daisy Steiner - is suddenly changing her tune.
In fact, she said "nothing's out of the question", which includes the possibility fo more TV episodes.
Hynes was being interviewed by Time Out, promoting her first ever stand up gig next Wednesday for children's charity NCH. Apparently, she's not at all nervous and is planning to do more standup, building her set with small gigs and going from there.
In response to the inevitable question about Spaced revivals, Hynes said "strangely, I've just been emailing Simon and, you never know, nothing's out of the question. I loved playing Daisy, so who knows?", before adding, "If Simon and Edgar were up for it, I definitely would be. So there you go, I'm putting that out there. I would be very up for doing a Spaced movie... How great would that be! Why not? Let's do it!
I don't think it's possible for one human being to be more excited than I am right now.
