Have you seen the video for Garbiella Cilmi's sing, Sweet About Me? I'm just going to go out on a limb and say it's one of the worst videos I've seen in a long time. Singing in that packaged, forced "Amy Winehouse" voice that Duffy is so fond of, Cilmi struts around an empty room with her all male band. Who she is singing to doesn't become more apparent until a good 30 seconds in the video, when we then are shown the half a dozen men she has tied up and trapped in various forms of rope and chain.
This video follows the philosophy that women who are strong must hate men, and that saying "hell hath no fury like a woman scorned" is rather cutesy, really. Climi crinkles her nose and smirks at the tied up men, who seem to be enjoying themselves as one picks up a harmonica while another bobs his head to the beat of her boring lyrics. If this were a male singer with a handful of women tied up, surely we'd all scream misogyny!
Decide for yourself and watch Gabriella's video for Sweet About Me after the jump!
