-Good news! The abortion limit is set to stay at 24 weeks! Last night's debate was just full of fun highlights, such as on politician suggesting we broadcast abortions on TV so that everyone can see how awful they are, and 71 members of parliament voting in favor of changing the limit to 12 weeks. -The UK government also voted last night that children being born to single mothers and lesbian couples through IVF do not need a father - only "supporting parents". While critics say that the government have made "fatherhood redundant", a squirrel is out to prove that, yes, fathers are still needed. While it sounds made up, a baby squirrel has "adopted" a park ranger as it's father. Who says we don't need dads?! [The Metro]
-Carrie Underwood is officially the most popular American Idol winner. EVER! The country star beat out Kelly Clarkson by picking up 54% of the votes in AOL Television poll. I wonder if this has anything to do with the increasing popularity of country music in the States at the moment? [Yahoo!]
-Apparently Swedish neo-Nazis beat up a bunch of feminists with metal pipes. A witness said, "They assaulted the [feminist] teenagers with metal pipes. One girl was beaten bloody and another 30-year-old man was battered while he lay on the ground." Wow. [UPI]
