If you're a big camping fan, and a lover of Mother Earth, you are going to be totally excited by this fantastic new solar powered Camper Van. Editor of Nollie, Gemma Freeman, explains...
I stumbled across this awesome idea for a renewable energy run Camper Van while perusing the blog on www.nigelsecostore.com - created by Canadian industrial designer Alexandre Verdier.
His idea for the Volkswagen Westfalia Verdier came to him as an idea when he was travelling around Europe in a traditional VW camper in 1994. Updated for the eco age his version comes with solar panels, a GPS to calculate the optimal position for maximum sun exposure, an on-boar wi-fed computer, pneuamtic suspension, sliding doors, integrated folding staircase, and a swivel cooking range to cook inside or al fresco. It also has a hybrid engine.
Just imagine; being able to tour the coast on this looking for surf spots all summer, then taking it to the mountains to hunt for powder in the winter. I want one!
