Park Avenue Peerage: Social networking for Paris Hilton hopefuls
At first glimpse of this site, you'll go, 'Ooh, I love that dress!' Next you'll probably comment on the accessories, and then you'll take a moment, pause and go, 'Who the H**** is that?' And then you realize the person you're admiring is precisely no-one. Well, that is to you anyways. I'm sure the socialite is very important in her own world of air kissing, champagne soirees and gallery openings. Basically, this is a site for the elite of Manhattan to showcase their latest looks, and comment on each-others outfits and man-candy. It's kinda similar to Gossip Girl in that respect, but, like, it's actually REAL LIFE.
Read on for an excerpt from the site.
'After an auction preview by Christie's, Elle Decor hosted a dinner at Bette, as part of their Young Collectors initiative. Socialites, including Zani Gugelmann and Maggie Betts, came to the Amy Sacco-owned establishment hungry after checking out antique wares for their homes. Karen Larrain came fresh, via private jet, from a vacation in Aspen with her friends Tinsley Mortimer and Fabiola Beracasa, and Alex Kramer came that evening on the arm of her boyfriend of several months, Danny Baker.'
Oh, to be part of that world. Then again, maybe not. I love the fact that this celebrates the vacuous lifestyles of the rich and famous in a way that shows such as Dynasty and the OC merely mocked. Will the real Paris Hilton please stand up?
