Originally, I mistyped that header "fashion industry clamps down skinny models" as though they'd been tethering models to the catwalk for fear they'll blow off if a strong gust of wind whipped through the building.
But, the story's a whole lot happier than that, because key members of the fashion industry in France have signed a government-supported charter aimed at promoting "body diversity".
Industry figures from the French Fashion Federation (FFF), the National Union of Modelling Agencies and the French Advertising Standards Authority, have all banded together to sign the document. It is hoped that it will go some way to prevent severely underweight models from clopping soullessly up the runway.
France has been under a spotlight concerning eating disorders since the anorexia-related deaths of several South American models in 2006, including Brazilian Ana Carolina Reston.
