Katie Couric Snubbed in DebatesHas anybody else noticed that Katie Couric hasn't hosted a political debate once during the primaries? Eight months and more than 20 debates into primaries, and Katie Couric has been busy reporting on rather than moderating the debates between candidates like Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and John McCain. You'd think that the highest paid anchorwoman on the evening news would have been invited to moderate at least once, but as The New York Observer points out, Brian Williams, Brit Hume, Charles Gibson, Wolf Blitzer, Tim Russert, George Stephanopoulos, Campbell Brown, Chris Wallace, and Natalie Morales have all upstaged Couric.

CBS claims that this is just "coincidental" and CBS president Sean McManus says "I wish we had been able to work it out. I think [Ms. Couric] would have been really good at it. I think it would have been a good showcase for CBS News. But it just wasn't to be this cycle." It's also reported that CBS claims that it just didn't have enough resources, both "financial and emotional" to have Katie moderate a debate. They didn't have enough emotional resources? What does that even mean? Is that a nice way of saying she's a shitty newsanchor?
