Women in Music: Françoise Hardy
Françoise Hardy is the woman in music for this Friday, I love her voice and I've written a few times about her style on Catwalk Queen. She's one of the great '60s chanteuses and artists like Candi Payne, Duffy and Adèle all owe her a musical debt. This song 'Une Fille Comme Tant D'autres' is great song, it's a jaded ode to a potential suitor who seems to have fallen head over heels for Hardy. She tells him she's just a girl like all the others and I think it's up there with The Supremes 'Where Did Our Love Go' for world-weary cynical love laments.
