The Pink Patch: Weight loss wizardry targets the teens

Everytime I think our society has evolved a step forward, and no longer are we ruled by our bodies and hormones, choosing instead intelligence and purpose I come across something like thus. It's a patch. For girls. Which is pink. And promises to help you lose LOADS of weight. With no scientific data or TRUTH behind it. Targeting itself as FREE (with a tiny P&P).
In giant pink Comic Sans letters it shouts, 'You'll start to burn more fat instantly! Proven to be the quickest way to infuse your body with all-natural weight loss ingredients for amazing results!'. Oh, and lets not forget the 'Cute little dress approved' sticker it comes with. Oh, I feel those pounds melting already.

Seriously though, who buys this shit? And who do they think they are making preposterous claims and printing pictures of youthful long limbed teens wearing something that looks like the Evro patch. It call itself the Pink Patch and has lots of very attractive teens in tiny bikini's- clearly they are the After pictures. In fact the site is suspiciously free of before and after pictures, scientific studies and nutritional data, purporting to be a wonder drug with nothing to back it up.
Oh, and the page is very verry long. Every time you're about to click away, you scroll down some more and there is yet more text, and buttons connecting to "buy it now for free" pages where you're asked to input your credit card details.
When I see this page 'WARNING' flashes in multi-colored lights behind my eyes, but sadly I'm sure it doesn't do that for everyone. The site is appealing to the lowest common denominator: kids who are so scared about their looks and figure that they will try anything, so I'm sure this has plenty takers. For those doubters out there, I'll say 'SAVE YOUR MONEY'. There is no such thing as a miracle cure, and anything which pretends to be that is taking money of innocent vulnerable people and SHOULD BE SHOT. The end.
Zara Rabinowicz writes for Shiny Shiny, Star Trip, The Baglady and Kiss and Makeup and wishes there was a miracle cure for weight loss. There isn't though.
