CEO-Barbie-C.article.jpgAlbeit long, The Sunday Times' article by Susan Pinker called "Are girls wired not to win?" is one of the most interesting articles online today. It examines why on earth highly successful women turn down huge promotions and seem to have their own personal "glass ceiling". It does seem mind boggling that a woman near the top wrung of the corporate ladder would flat out turn down a pay raise and a prestigious promotion. The women who make this career move almost aways cite their families as being the reason. How can they uproot their family and move for a promotion? How they can justify 10 more hours in the office a week, and not tuck their children in at night?

Most women seem to be ashamed of this decision, as if somehow they're ruining all the work their fellow feminists of yore had worked so hard to achieve. However, there seems to be scientific evidence to prove that this isn't just women being overly sensitive or crazy or handing over points to The Patriarchy - but simply a part of how women are made up, hormonally and chemically.
