target hates bloggersThe New York Times reports that Target thinks that bloggers are irrelevant. You may remember all the hoopla surrounding their ad with a woman's crotch in the center of a target, and in an email Amy Jussel from ShapingYouth.org complained to Target that, "Targeting crotches with a bull’s-eye is not the message we should be putting out there." In return, Jussel was basically told she didn't matter. In an email response, Target said:

"Unfortunately we are unable to respond to your inquiry because Target does not participate with nontraditional media outlets. This practice is in place to allow us to focus on publications that reach our core guest."

Oh, wow. "We do not work with bloggers currently,” Amy von Walter told the New York Times (who are a traditional media outlet), “But we have made exceptions, and we are reviewing the policy and may adjust it.” However, despite all that, and despite the many many complaints from bloggers about the targeted crotch ad, they will not be changing their ad campaign.
