This video isn't easy to watch, so, I just thought I'd warn you. The National Center for Domestic Violence reports that in the UK, 330,000 injuries per year are blamed on kitchen cabinet injuries. This, as you can probably guess, isn't true, and most of these women's injuries are actually caused by domestic violence.
The Adrants blog says, "it's not so clear they do anything to stop the violence. In fact, a current or potential abuser viewing this commercial now has yet another excuse to use when explaining away the situation."
I disagree. I don't think a commercial is going to give an abuser or even an abused women an idea for a different excuse to use. I think commercials like this are very important to show how horrible it is that there are so many women out there who are being abused, and lie to cover it up. Commercials and adverts don't "do anything to stop the violence" by themselves, but educating the public on these awful situations is the first of many steps.
