Ever dreamed of having your own stylist for a day? Ever sat around watching 'How to look good naked' and imagined how amazing it would be to have Gok Wan dress you? Well, I often think that I know my own shape quite well and have no problems choosing what to wear. However, I am still intrigued by the experts and curious of their suggestions so imagine my excitement when I discovered an online service to offer styling advice! iStylista.com is a site that you sign up to where you can get an automated personal stylist of your very own!
Eager to hear their Trinny and Susannah style honesty I clicked 'Sign up' and began the process of analysing my body. They ask you your clothes sizes (including bra and shoes) which seems fair enough followed by your body shape. This question left me slightly stumped, am I a pear or an hourglass? Hourglass clearly sounds more glamorous but realistically my breasts aren't that huge so I am forced to opt for Pear.
You're asked about your skin tone, eye colour and hair colour so that they can chose colours to suit you. Finally you are forced, literally, to chose three problem areas. I look through the list of options and suddenly I develop a whole load of body issues I had never considered. Is my neck too long? Too short? Are my shoulders sloping or rounded? Do I have a prominent tummy? I can probably chose two areas of me that I am slightly conscious of but three?
The follow up advice tells me that my body shape is like Paris Hilton (it's not) and that I should be wearing shoulder pads (it's not 1987). It has no mention of my rounded shoulders or long neck, you have to pay for that kind of advice. I will just spend the rest of the day worrying about "my problem areas", thanks iStylista.
