Monday Question: "He wore more makeup than I did, so no, it didn't work out."

kevin_federline.jpgThis week the lovely Dollymixers share with us...

"How old were you when you had your first boyfriend? How did it work out?"

Susi Weaser:
My first proper boyfriend was a holiday romance when I was 15. Unfortunately, that pesky Atlantic ocean got in the way.

Katie Lee:
I went to an all-girls school, so relationships tended to be a bit lame - lots of letters and awkward weekend meet ups. My first "boyfriend" was when I was 13. I dumped him after the first date because he had steel heels (blakeys) and I was embarrassed to be with him while he clickety clacked round the streets of my home town.

Amber McNaught:
I was five and he was six. His name was Billy. We’re no longer in touch…

Keris Stainton:
Oh, how embarrassing. 23. And I married him. (And, yes, we're still married.)

Cate Sevilla:
My first proper boyfriend? I was 18. He was a twat. It didn't work out.

Katherine Hannaford:
I always had little boyfriends from the age of five onwards, and even had my first kiss around that age, but my first very serious boyfriend was when I was sixteen. We were together a few years, but broke up due to complicated reasons involving his mental illness and hospitalisation.

Abi Silvester:
I was 19, and no, it didn’t work out! He was immature, sexist, very into criticism and about the word introduction to men I could have had. I still have actual nightmares in which my current wonderful man transforms horror-movie-style into this repulsive monster of a first boyfriend. Of course, what made it all so bad was how much I thought I wanted to be with him...

Isabelle O'Carroll:
I was a bit of a late bloomer as I was seventeen when I had my first boyfriend, we went out for a bit but I couldn't stand his ridiculously bad timekeeping!

Katie Button:
How old were you when you had your first boyfriend? How did it work out?
My first proper boyfriend was when I was 16. I went to an all girls school and we met doing a joint-school play. He was two years older and some of my friends quite fancied him, so I thought I was doing really well. We dated for over a year, but when I went to a mixed sixth form, I soon found other more interesting alternatives.

Alex Roumbas:
If a string of two-week relationships counts, 15. If you mean longer, then 24. He treated me indifferently, dumped me long distance because he “wasn’t ready for a relationship” and then married some US bird. So, really well, because I’ve now met the man I’m going to spend the rest of my life with, which rocks.

Charlotte Howells:
I was 11. He eight-timed me. Seriously. He was hence-force known as 'the eight-timing rat'.

Laura Street:
It depends what you mean by boyfriend. My best friend at nursery was a boy called Pip and we were inseparable until we had a fight and he knocked out my front tooth. Still haven’t managed to track him down...

Zara Rabinowicz:
15 and a half. He used to wear makeup that stained my t-shirts so it didn't last

Monday Question: "He wore more makeup than I did, so no, it didn't work out." - Comments

  • Since I missed this somehow...I was proposed to by my 'boyfriend' at 8 years old, in front of the whole class. I got a ring and everything. Then he moved up to big school, found another girl and ASKED FOR THE RING BACK.

It's all gone downhill from there, really.
