I just finished reading the incredible book, A Mighty Heart, and although I will be writing up a proper review of it, I just wanted to share with you that today would have been Daniel Pearl's birthday. Five years ago today the Daniel Pearl Foundation launched the first Daniel Pearl World Music Days where musicians and performers around the word use in "the power of music to promote tolerance and inspire respect for differences".
The Daniel Pearl Foundation's website explains that the foundation was "formed by Danny's family and friends to continue Danny's mission and to address the root causes of this tragedy, in the spirit, style, and principles that shaped Danny's work and character" and I cannot think of a better cause to promote. Daniel Pearl Music Days are going on this month, all over the world, from October 1-15, with other Daniel Pearl inspired event going on well into November. Daniel embodied all that is good in the world, and inspires us all to keep searching for the truth.
