Charlotte Church given baby warning, model only wears boots & a new website

- The Daily Mail has gone all fashion conscious by showing us this season’s must have new boots. Shame the model posing in said footwear is naked. Yup – apparently her feet were cold but the rest of her was so god damned hot that she had to strip off. Hardly speaking to the female demographic are we? [the Daily Mail]

- The director of the Foundation for the Study of Infant Deaths (phew, what a mouthful) has warned new mum Charlotte Church about the dangers of sleeping in the same bed as her newborn baby. Mmm – to sleep with or without, what’s your view Dollymixers? [Digital Spy]

- A man with porn on his computer? Someone pass the smelling salts for methinks I have passed out from the utter shock of it all. Not as surprised as the American state official was when a topless woman projected from his computer onto the screen during his law lecture to a high school class. Sure he wasn’t teaching sex ed? [The Metro]

- Looks like we’ve got competition. New women’s website SingleAndFab.com has launched today. Thankfully, it too is promoting the ‘independent women’ shtick, with no “how to please your man” nonsense. All good news – maybe we can be best buddies. [PR Web]

A look at an inspiring family and how breakfast clubs and after school activities have changed their lives

Ref: Sleeping with your newborn.

In my opinion the risk far outweights convenience, with my own child I know I could not live with myself should anything happen so I never let my son share our bed, instead I pulled his cot right alongside our bed so I felt he was close enough to be safe but far enough to be safe from us.

"The director of the Foundation for the Study of Infant Deaths (phew, what a mouthful)" Obviously bad taste doesn't reside exclusively in your mouth. Oh yeah, that I'm sure seemed like the perfect opening for telling a joke. Your sensitivity to the subject is to be commended.

On the subject of boots...

All I can say is, what did you really expect from the Daily Mail?! Have you seen their taste in footwear?!!

I'm a cosleeper, my babies stayed in my bed. Often if you look at the root of the studies saying how unsafe it is you'll find money from a baby product company. Check out Dr. Sears for the real info on sleeping with your babe.

what rot!!!
it is called cot death because most babies that die of sids die in THEIR COTS!!!!

the so called" co-sleeping babies" that die of cot death, are usually babies who have been smothered sleeping with a parent under the influence of a substance, sleeping on a SOFA with a baby, sleeping with a parent who SMOKES...etc and not actually babies who sleep with a parent that responsibly co-sleeps...!
there is a lot of evidence to prove that co- sleeping is safe for babies (ie most of the worlds co sleep, and have much lower sids statistics than us) so i wish rthey would stop spinning this victorian era inspired trop to people...
if charlotte church has chosen a home birth, breast feeding, and co-sleeping then she is obviously very well read and informed about the best way for her to bring up her baby!
i'd hate to think of how the human race has survived for so long without mothercare cots!
i could never live with myself, either, if something happened to my baby, and thats why i choose to have him close by so i am aware of him, than shoved in a cage in another room.
