Lily Allen has been banned from the United States after she was strip searched and interrogated for five hours at LAX. She was told her work visa had been canceled because of her criminal record, as she was arrested for assaulting a "photographer" and "attacking" a man outside a nightclub. Lily told The Daily Mail, "I am trying everything I can to sort this out. I don't like letting my fans down. It is my intention to play my American dates in September. This depends on the authorities granting me a new work visa. I am sure that we can sort this out."
Look. Not that I condone violence or anything, but how many male musicians from the UK with criminal records or drug addictions prance in out of the US on a regular basis? Why is it that Lily gets banned? I hate to be a soppy feminist, but I call bullshit.
