Chicago's Matron Mama Morton is always curvy - why make Kelly look so tiny?

Yeah, yeah, we all know promotional celebrity photos are touched up. Magazines, newspapers, and advertising companies all do this. Ashlee Simpson used to have one of the most "normal" bodies in Hollywood, yet in her promotional shots for Chicago last year, her collar bone appears to be more noticeable than her new nose. Fair enough as Roxie Hart is supposed to be a waif of a character, no? She's a small, and everyone who played her has been tiny. But why did they make Kelly Osbourne look so small when Matron Mama Morton is supposed to be curvy?

Kelly's a curvy girl. Practically every woman who's played her in the past has been curvy. (Queen Latifah! Roz Ryan!) She's supposed to have presence, and have a powerful looking body. So why does she look as svelte as Velma Kelly in her promo shots? As TMZ points out, they did go just a wee bit overboard with the airbrushing.

Does it really matter? Kelly looks great. In fact, she's probably one of the understudies for Velma. I'm sure she'll do a great job. She's got enough sass, anyway.
