The new Minstrels advertisement in the UK features two women eating chocolate, sitting in rather posh looking theatre, discussing the show their about to see. One looks at the other and says, "I hear this piece really pushes the boundaries of modern dance." To which the other replies that the choreography is inspired by "the chief director of Le Grand Bulge". Suddenly, bright neon lights and heavy bass music start thumping. They each grab their opera glasses, and suddenly the camera cuts to what they're gawking at on stage: male strippers. The tag line for the advert is "sophisticated silliness", and I beg to differ.
Firstly, I hate chocolate adverts. Secondly, this advert is just plain stupid. But it leaves me to wonder, how many of you go and see male strippers? If you've got extra cash and time in Vegas, are you really going go spend it on The Thunder from Down Under?
Male Strippers: Yay or Nay?
