Bratz movie says it's the "X-men for girls", fighting cliques and peer pressure
When I saw the trailer for the new movie Bratz, I recall feeling a bit nauseous and saying something like, "This is Mean Girls: Regurgitated. Are we not suppose to notice that?" Bratz dolls came out after my doll days were through, so I never really paid too much attention to their freakishly large heads. However, looking through their website, they do look better than Barbie dolls. They're still all thin, they categorize cheerleading as a sport, and every single doll has long hair - but saying that, they don't have ridiculous bust sizes.
The trailer for the Bratz movie shows a typical blond Campus Queen showing the new girls where each of the cliques sit, and the whole movie seems to be about four Bratz raging against the high school clique machine. Again, Mean Girls, anyone? But what makes me laugh the most is that the producer of this movie refers to this movie as, "X-Men for girls". Janel Parrish, who the Brat Jade, agrees: "We definitely feel like superheroes in this movie. We fight peer pressure, so I guess we are superheroes." Their powers? Singing, fashion, soccer and cheerleading.

Bratz Dolls don't have noses.
I am not sure what this says for women in society today...
