A Mighty Heart brings to life the memoir of Mariane Pearl, which she wrote to honour her kidnapped and murdered husband Danny Pearl. Danny was the South Asia Bureau chief for the Wall Street Journal, and was kidnapped while researching a story on the shoe bomber, Richard Reid, in 2002.
A Mighty Heart: The Brave Life and Death of My Husband Danny Pearl was written by Mariane to introduce her husband to their son, Adam, who she was 6 months pregnant with at the time of Danny's kidnapping. Mariane and Danny believed that truthful journalism could bridge communities in conflict, and this film hopes to do just that.
