I hate it when you really like someone, and then they go do something that really just makes you want to smack them. You know, like when your best friend starts wearing leggings under a stringy jean skirt, when she swore on your friendship that she wouldn't. Well, that's how I felt today when I saw a rather concerning sentence on Nick Denton's blog this afternoon:
I repeat: "I think women may finally have discovered blogs."
Like, what's a blog? As if!
Irony! We're known for that, supposedly. Though definitely also true that the audience for blogs, which were mainly about technology, used to be overwhelmingly male. And that's shifted, with the subject matter.
See, I was hoping that you were just being ironic. However, it didn't seem very funny.
I had a blog back in '97. Before they even existed!
