My Free Implants to help women buy "new boobies" with donations from strangers
I love the internet and all of its fabulous possibilities. However, when people set up websites like MyFreeImplants.com, I sort of want to throw my laptop out the window. MyFreeImplants lets women set up profiles describing their body and what type of plastic surgery they would like to have, in order to attract benefactors, who are people "who wish to help these women improve their self esteem and confidence through cosmetic surgery".
The British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS) says that they find this website "frightening and potentially dangerous", and that that: "The invitation for women to post suggestive photos, sell personal items and chat with strangers over the Internet in exchange for a breast augmentation is just plain degrading."
However, while the rest of us see this as degrading and ridiculous, the women who use thsi website seem to think the exact opposite, as one can read one of the site's many testimonials: "Thanks to my FAVVEE man I am now over $1000 !!! yay I made it I am so happy OMG I will have my boobies before long I can feel it!!"

Well, in response to 'cupcake's' blog, I certainly
DO hope you throw your laptop out the window, and take a framing hammer to your desk-top if you have one...!
Because a woman wants to have cosmetic surgery she's 'demeaning' herself?? What is wrong with that? If it improves her self esteem or, in HER eyes, her personal appearance, what business is it of yours to judge? Keep opinions grounded in the 1800's to yourself, my friend, this is the year 2007! Do you also believe in witches and reading entrails to foretell the future?! RELAX!!
Find a cause just 'slightly' better to stand behind, like some very serious environmental issues, political concerns, SOMETHING!! And as far as the BAAPS is concerned, WHO FREAKING CARES
what they think?? If you recall, we gained our independence from the Brits a couple of hundred YEARS plus ago...
You REALLY need to get a life, or get laid, or stop wasting your time judging women who decide to seek help for whatever reason, and as for the men who donate their money to these same women?
AGAIN: THEIR BUSINESS and THEIR MONEY!!
And maybe, just MAYBE, if you had 'bothered' to investigate the site just a little, you'd have seen how well protected the women on the site are from perverts and sexual preditors, among many other safe guards instilled to prevent ANY form of misconduct!
grow up, get a life, get with the current century, and most of all, get off the NET - You don't belong here!!
