Erotic poems reveal Juan Ramón Jiménez did more than just pray with three nuns

monk_nun.jpgPoet Juan Ramón Jiménez won the Nobel prize for literature in 1956, two years before he died. He wrote over 3,600 poems, and yet, here we are, more than 50 years later, talking about how we supposedly got it on with three nuns from the Sisters of the Holy Rosary congregation. (No, not all at once, you perv.) Jiménez, was extremely paranoid of sudden death, and therefore had to be near doctors at all times, so he stayed as a "privileged guest" at a nursing home where the nuns he apparently had -eh- extensive prayer sessions with, worked.

Jiménez said the years he spent under the nuns' "care" were the "happiest of my life". He about his experiences with the nuns in a series of "lewd and erotic" poems, which he sent to a publishing company, and then retracted as he didn't want to upset his wife. Now, in a publication called Books of Love, 25 previously unpublished poems -including the Naughty Nuns poems, are being made pubic -I mean public- for the first time, and the Holy Rosary are none too happy, as they reveal the nuns to possibly be Sister Amalia Murillo, Sister Filomena and Sister Pilar Ruberte.
