Boston.com's Interactive Family Quiz is sort of depressing, sort of irritating, but informative none the less. (Doesn't that make you want to take it right this second?) I found out some not-so eye opening information, like that single people are more involved in their communities than married people, as marriage supposedly isolates people from their community. To that, I say, "DUH." The study says, "Single never-married people were most involved in their extended families and communities, followed by divorced individuals, then married people." Of course they are! They're trying to meet potential boyfriends and girlfriends and husbands and "special friends". That, and once women get married, they are immediately impregnated and are no doubt exhausted from scrubbing the grout in between the bathroom tiles all day long and who feels like going to a community crab feed after all that? My favorite revelation was that it is FALSE that couples describe they relationship as "happier" after the birth of their first child, as "67 percent experienced growing friction in their relationship after their first baby was born" Golly! I can hardly wait to become isolated by my marriage and unhappy after my first born. It sounds like a dream...
