Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie and Lindsay Lohan get a lot of press attention and usually seem to enjoy it immensely. LiLo aside, what have these girls ever actually done that warrants them getting any press coverage at all?
I recently read an article in a UK weekly that suggested Nicole was drastically losing weight due to stress. But I had to question this, stress from what exactly? Stress from her constant shopping marathons, partying and not ever having to worry about where her next meal peppermint tea is coming from?
Richie has today defended her on/off BFF (best friend forever) saying, "[Paris was treated] really unfair...I don’t know if she necessarily could have done anything to stop that. I think sometimes people just get exploited".
Excuse me? As far as I'm aware nobody forced her to drive under the influence. So actually, yes there is something she could have done to stop that. Richie too has a pending court appearance for a similar conviction, and just last weekend LiLo was pulled over and subsequently sent back to rehab.
I just don't understand where Hilton is coming from with her complaints about her sentence. Driving under the influence and whilst her licence was suspended are both very serious crimes that could have resulted in harm to other people. Also, as she is fully aware of the extent to which the press hound her (and encourages this attention), I'm not sure how she thought she could get away with it?
If Hilton had in fact injured, or even killed someone whilst DUI would she still be whining about having to serve the shortest prison sentence ever? (not necessarily a fact).
Paris and Nicole are regularly accused of promoting eating disorders and they express anger at being accused of such things but when the law accuses you of something that's factually true. you can't get your "people" to deny anything.
She isn't really going to experience jail anyway, they're putting her in the special care wing with a carefully selected cell mate who they hope won't sell her story further down the line (yeah right). Surely it would be more beneficial for the world if Hilton spent a year living with "real" people, without a TV crew, without her Daddy's credit card experiencing what life is actually like? Seemed to work for Naomi Campbell...
