Mother's Day is interesting. I have an attitude problem when it comes to forced holidays that make us kiss our mother's/father's or boyfriend's/girlfriend's ass just because Hallmark says so. Valentines Day is ridiculous, and so is Mother's/Father's day because really, you should be treating yo' mama with respect every single day. It is a nice concept and idea that our mom's should be pampered for a day, however, the idea of having only 24 hours and about $50 to show your mom why she's, like, sooo totally awesome makes some people freak out. How do I show her I care? How do I tell her I love her? How will she know that she's the #1 mom in the whole world?
Well, my suggestion would be to NOT get her Go-Go dancing lessons. Reading yet another Mother's Day gift guide on Fox News, they actually suggested getting her Go-Go dance lessons from Smile And Dance. With classes tailored to women from 30-50 years old, this is apparently a great way to lose a "few pounds, lower cholesterol, and alleviate depression". Personally, if my kids were to give me Go-Go dancing lessons as a way to lose weight and lower my cholesterol, it would make me depressed. How about brunch and a nice card? Sheesh.
